    Kujtim Berisha(Kujta), was born on July 11, 1970, in the picturesque town of Gjakova, Republic of Kosovo.     In 1990, Kujta established his own atelier, where he began crafting exquisite, hand-made designs of clothing for women that captured the essence of elegance.     In 1991, fate intervened when Kujta crossed paths with Merita Krasniqi-Berisha (Meri). Their collaboration sparked a new wave of creativity, resulting in the birth of the K&M brand. Meri's designs captivated Kujta, who had always been a discerning critic of fashion. Together, they embarked on a journey to redefine elegance, creating a line of elite and sophisticated dresses that resonated with modern women.

    Their designs quickly gained popularity, earning admiration from celebrities and public figures across the country. K&M became synonymous with unique, brilliant, and exclusive designs that were tailor-made for goddesses. From Milan Fashion Week to Dressing Beyoncé: The Rise of Kosovar Designers in the Global Fashion Scene

Kujta & Meri, also recognized as the first Albanian designers to bring a revolutionary change to the fashion industry across all Albanian territories, setting a new standard for Albanian and Kosovar designers — in their early years they dreamed of showcasing their designs in the fashion capital of the world, Milan, Italy. Through persistent networking and numerous trips, they were invited to present their creations at the 2009 Milan Fashion Week, under the authority of Critical Fashion. Their designs were highly appreciated by the Italian media and fashion institutions, marking their entry into the international fashion scene. This milestone paved the way for their participation in the Haute Couture Art & Gallery Exhibition in Milan in 2009. Kujta & Meri became the first Kosovar designers to introduce their work in world fashion centers like Milan, Rome, and Palermo. In 2014, they presented their collection at Berlin Fashion Week.

Kujta & Meri's designs continued to gain recognition among celebrities. In 2018, Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra chose a glamorous Kujta & Meri dress for a red carpet event, earning the award for “The Best 2018 Bollywood Dress.” That same year, their pieces were worn by actress Cassidy Bentley and Aracelya Rambula at the Latin Music Awards.

Achieving global recognition has always been Kujta & Meri's dream. Their designs eventually caught the eye of global superstar Beyoncé, who wore their handmade ‘Snowflake Leaves’ dress at Diddy’s 50th Birthday Party in December 2019. The dress received high praise from fashion critics, and Beyoncé was so impressed with Kujta & Meri's unique style that she chose their designs again for her film 'Black is King' (MOOD 4 EVA), further showcasing their talent to the world.
